About Me
I am a resource management and environmental law specialist, and have practiced exclusively in those areas for 25 years. I also have significant project management experience.
Before commencing practice as a barrister, I was a Principal at a prominent national law firm. I also spent time on secondment with a large State Owned Enterprise leading the consenting aspects of a $1B project.
I am known for my success in consenting challenging projects, my ‘can do’ attitude and my pragmatism. I provide clients with clear advice and strategic, commercial solutions that create lasting benefits for their business.
I am results-focused and experienced in resolving complex matters in a practical and efficient way.
I have advised public and private sector clients on a very broad range of projects throughout New Zealand including quarries and mines, commercial developments, residential subdivisions, hospitals and retirement villages.

RECENT PROJECTS
- Advised Te Whatu Ora on the fast track consenting of the new Dunedin Hospital (Covid 19 Recovery (Fast Track Consenting) Act 2020).
- Acted for the University of Canterbury at the hearing of applications for resource consents for a new $50M Digital Screen Campus, Christchurch.
- Advised Tāwhaki Joint Venture (a partnership between the Government and the indigenous people of Kaitorete – Wairewa Rūnanga and Te Taumutu Rūnanga) in relation to the Tāwhaki National Aerospace Centre, Te Waihora.
- Acted for Yoursection Limited in relation to the consenting of a 160 lot subdivision, Christchurch.
- Advised Cromwell Certified Concrete Limited (a division of Winstone Aggregates) on the expansion of Amisfield Quarry, Central Otago.
- Advised Christchurch Cathedral Reinstatement Limited in relation to the Christchurch Cathedral Reinstatement Project.
